Reduce Recidivism is a youth-led initiative based in Ghana, founded by Tracy Frimpong in January 2025. We support the reformation and reintegration of juveniles in correctional centers through vocational training, life skills development, and mentorship.
Recidivism refers to the tendency of a person to reoffend or return to criminal behavior after being released from a correctional facility. Our mission is to reduce this cycle by addressing root causes and building positive alternatives.
Our programs are designed for juveniles in Ghanaian correctional centers, especially those nearing the end of their sentence or in need of support during reintegration. We also support recently released youth who show interest in rebuilding their lives.
Participants receive hands-on training in trades such as carpentry, tailoring, hairdressing, bead-making, and digital skills, depending on their interests and the available resources. We also teach entrepreneurship and basic financial literacy.
We match participants with trained volunteer mentors who offer guidance, encouragement, and accountability. Mentors help with personal development, goal setting, and navigating life after release.
No. Reduce Recidivism is an independent, youth-led nonprofit initiative. However, we work closely with correctional institutions, community leaders, and government stakeholders to ensure meaningful impact.

Yes. We believe family support plays a crucial role in reintegration. We work with families to rebuild trust, offer counseling referrals, and prepare for reunification where possible.
