Who we are

To break the cycle of reoffending & create opportunities for lasting impact

Reduce Recidivism is a youth-led initiative in Ghana committed to supporting the reformation and reintegration of juveniles in correctional centres. Founded by Tracy Frimpong, Esq. in January 2025, we empower young offenders through hands-on vocational training, life-skills development and mentorship that foster self-reliance and restore dignity.

  • Practical, marketable skills that turn into real livelihoods
  • Life-skills and mentorship that rebuild confidence and purpose
  • Reintegration support that reduces stigma and prevents reoffending

Our Mission

To reduce recidivism and crime rates among young people by providing vocational training, skill development, and mentorship that facilitate effective rehabilitation and smooth reintegration into society.

Our Vision

A Ghana with much lower crime and recidivism rates among young people — and a society where ex-convicts are empowered, economically independent, and can actively contribute to national development through self-employment.

Voices of change

Transformation, in their own words

I started Reduce Recidivism because I believe transformation is possible when we treat people with empathy and invest in their future. Every success story reminds us: no one is beyond redemption.

Before joining the program, I felt forgotten. The vocational training helped me find purpose again. Now, I run a small carpentry business and people look at me with respect, not pity. Reduce Recidivism gave me a second chance.

I taught young girls at Osu Correctional Centre how to make bleach — but we created more than a cleaning solution. We sparked hope, transformation and the belief in second chances. One girl said, "I am a newer version of myself."
