How lasting change happens
A pathway out of the cycle
We don't stop at the prison gate. Our model walks with each young person from their first workshop to a stable life in their community.
- Skill. Hands-on vocational training in trades with real market demand.
- Strengthen. Life-skills, peace education and mentorship that rebuild confidence.
- Start. Start-up support to launch a small business and earn an honest income.
- Sustain. Ongoing mentorship and community work that reduces stigma and prevents reoffending.

Stories of second chances
“
I started Reduce Recidivism because I believe transformation is possible when we treat people with empathy and invest in their future. Every success story reminds us: no one is beyond redemption.

Before joining the program, I felt forgotten. The vocational training helped me find purpose again. Now, I run a small carpentry business and people look at me with respect, not pity. Reduce Recidivism gave me a second chance.

I taught young girls at Osu Correctional Centre how to make bleach — but we created more than a cleaning solution. We sparked hope, transformation and the belief in second chances. One girl said, "I am a newer version of myself."

When my son was taken to the correctional centre, I thought I had lost him. But thanks to this program, he came back home a changed person — disciplined, skilled and full of dreams. We are rebuilding our relationship, and I am hopeful again.
